Social networking app internship

WyreApp is a young Toronto-based tech startup working on a social networking app that bridges the gap between photos, live streaming video, geo-location, and hosting events within a 24 hour time frame. 

Job Description: WyreApp is close to launching Version 1.0 on the App Store and is preparing to immediately start the Android version along with improving the website for a more interactive user experience. App and Web Development team would be given the opportunity to be a part of a new social networking start-up, native to the Greater Toronto Area, from the ground up, while developing practical skills and experience in the field of computer programming. These people will be given the task of developing new iOS software on top of the iOS software that WyreApp currently has and will be working on future updates as well. 

Schedule: Monday-Sunday (flexible)

Requirements: - 2-3 years minimum of computer programming experience or equivalent in education - Expertise/knowledge in MVC, PHP, Objective C/Swift, Python, Java, and Git languages - Moderate to advanced knowledge of web and app development - Multi-lingual is a huge asset 

Compensation: We are looking to build a team which owns equity within the company. Our goal will be your goal. As a team we will discuss equity/share amounts and proceed from there.

NSERC masters (CGSM) application deadline

Undergrad students who are planning to apply for graduate studies for next year and who are applying for an NSERC masters (CGSM) should note that the application deadline is 3:00 pm on December 1, 2015.  This includes references and transcripts.

Students who have not already ordered their Waterloo transcript will not be eligible to submit the application.

Center for Quantum Information and Quantum Control - Summer Research

CQIQC SUMMER SCHOLARSHIPS FOR UNDERGRADUATES
The Center for Quantum Information and Quantum Control (CQIQC), located at the University of Toronto, is accepting applications for Prize Scholarships for Undergraduate Students to undertake Summer Research Projects at the University of Toronto in 2016. CQIQC will provide funds for students to spend the summer working in one of the research groups associated with the Center.

Qualifications: Advanced undergraduates majoring in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Quantum dynamics in molecules and nanoscale systems or related areas, with excellent GPA’s who have one or more years remaining in their programme before the expected completion of their undergraduate degree.

Applications will be reviewed throughout December 2015 and the 35 teams selected for the semi-finals will be invited to attend a two-day Bootcamp in San Francisco on February 19th and 20th, 2016. At the Bootcamp teams will engage in lectures, workshops, practice pitch sessions to healthcare investors and networking opportunities with our mentors and partners.
