Rotman International Trading Competiton

The Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC) is an annual event where competing teams of students and faculty from across the globe participate in a unique three day conference. This year it will be held from Thursday February 20th, 2014 to Saturday February 22nd, 2014.

RITC presents teams with challenges that are pertinent to current market trends. While past competitions have been very successful, they continually improve on past cases and introduce new ones. After adopting the Rotman Interactive Trader (RIT) platform in the 2006 competition and receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback, they strive further utilize RIT's newly added features to offer more variety in their trading cases and a better trading experience.

Not only will you have an opportunity to utilize your skills, knowledge, and acumen, but you will have the opportunity to meet and network with faculty and students from around the globe!

We are looking for a team of students (5) who want to go and represent the University of Waterloo as the undergrad team. This is a trading competition but is heavily slanted towards topics involving algo trading and that sort of thing. We have had an undergrad team there for the last couple of years and have done well in past.

If you are interested in submitting an application either individually or as a a team of four individuals, please submit a short (1/2 page) informational statement as to why you want to go and please provide bios (with student numbers) for each student. You may construct your team from any faculty. This may all be submitted to the Math Business Office (M3 2001) during regular business hours (Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.) by October 29, 2013. Please note that if you need to submit them after hours please email us at mathbus@uwaterloo.ca and we shall ensure that there is an envelope left outside our office pinned to our bulletin board so you can slip it under the door. The next day when we return we shall email you so that you can rest assured we have received it.

Please note that though you may submit a team it may be modified to incorporate other individuals if we perhaps see a better fit for the competition.

For more information and a great video please check out http://ritc.rotman.utoronto.ca<http://ritc.rotman.utoronto.ca/>/.

All the best and wishing you great success on your midterms,
